Chicopee PD: Man charged with OUI had cocaine, fireworks in car

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – A Ludlow man is facing multiple charges after getting pulled over for speeding in Chicopee early Thursday morning.

Chicopee Police Officer Mike Wilk told 22News 29-year-old Jesus Bracetti was stopped on East Main Street after he was observed traveling 83 miles per hour on Shawinigan Drive just before 3:00 a.m.

Wilk said the officer smelled alcohol coming from Bracetti’s car and noticed that he had red glassy eyes and slurred speech. He was taken into custody upon further investigation and charged with OUI liquor.

Wilk told 22News an inventory of Bracetti’s car turned up an empty bottle of alcohol, three bags of white powder believed to be cocaine, and fireworks. He’s facing additional charges — possession of a Class B substance (cocaine), possession of fireworks, speeding, no license in possession, no registration in possession– in connection with those findings and the traffic stop itself.

Bracetti’s bail was set at $100. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Chicopee District Court Thursday morning.
