Chicopee police looking to identify alleged cigarette thief


CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Chicopee police are asking for help identifying a man they say stole cigarettes last month. 

According to Chicopee Police Officer Mike Wilk, the man went to the Family Dollar store on Exchange Street on January 28 and tried to buy a carton of cigarettes.

Wilk said as the cashier attempted to scan the cigarettes the man grabbed then and ran out of the store without paying. 

Anyone who recognizes the man is asked to call the Chicopee Police Department at 413-594-1740 and reference case 433.
