Children present at Springfield home where police seized stolen firearm, cocaine


SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A stolen firearm, drugs, and ammunition were seized from a home on Bay Street on Wednesday.

Springfield Police Department spokesman Ryan Walsh told 22News two children were inside the apartment at 155 Bay Street when officers conducted the search warrant. 

Twenty-six year-old Alberto Morales is now facing multiple charges including cocaine trafficking and reckless endangerment of a child.

Walsh said a woman inside the home will receive a criminal complaint for her charges.

In total officers seized: 38.8 grams of cocaine, two chunks and 15 wrapped rocks of crack cocaine, a high capacity handgun with a magazine containing 17 rounds of ammunition and an additional 55 rounds of ammunition.
