Colorado man accused of killing pregnant wife, daughters facing murder charges

New details surrounding the man from Colorado, who’s accused of killing his pregnant wife and two young daughters.

These new details are disturbing this morning we now 33-year-old Chris Watts told police he strangled his pregnant wife out of rage.

This is all according to court documentation.

Last week the bodies of 34-year-old Shanann Watts and their two children  4-year-old Bella and 3-year-old Celeste were found by investigators after they were reported missing by a family friend on August 13.

He’s been charged with a total of nine felony counts including five counts of murder in the first degree. 

According to CNN, Watts is facing the following charges: 

  • Three counts of first-degree murder
  • Two counts of first-degree murder causing the death of a child younger than 12
  • Three counts of tampering with a body
  • First-degree unlawful termination of a pregnancy

Watts later confessed to killing his family he told authorities he buried his wife near oil tanks and dumped his daughters bodies those tanks which is according to an affidavit.

Watts said he strangled his wife because he allegedly saw her strangling the couple’s 3-year-old daughter on their baby monitor.

Weld County prosecutors filed multiple charges against Watts Monday. 

A vigil was also held for the family Friday. 

Watts is scheduled to be back in court today.
