DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WPRI) — Dartmouth Police were called to Stephen Street about 11:30 p.m. Saturday for a report of people breaking into several vehicles.

When officers arrived in the area, they found the three suspects walking near the McDonald’s on Dartmouth Street.

After a brief encounter with the suspects, they took of running. Officers searched the area and were able to find all three of the men.

During the investigation, officers recovered numerous items stolen from the vehicles.

As a result, police arrested Xavier Kennedy, 18, Jordan Bunting, 20, and Orion Taylor, 19, all from New Bedford. They are all facing several charge including five counts of felony breaking and entering into a motor vehicle during the nighttime, four counts of larceny of property valued under $1,200, and two counts of conspiracy to commit a crime.

“This incident should serve as a persuasive reminder to everyone to keep your doors locked, alarms armed, and to never leave valuables inside of an unattended motor vehicle,” said Dartmouth Police Chief Brian Levesque.
