DCF “took emergency custody of a child” from Springfield Page Blvd. home

Crime

The Department of Children and Families has confirmed with 22News that a child is in their custody after being taken from 1333 Page Boulevard.

DCF Spokeswoman Andrea Grossman issued this statement to 22News Friday afternoon:

“The Department of Children and Families took emergency custody of a child in the home and is investigating in collaboration with law enforcement.”

Grossman told 22News she couldn’t provide any further details due to the pending kidnapping investigation in connection to the home on Page Blvd.

It’s been nearly 48 hours since investigators descended on the Springfield home. Three bodies were found at the home on Page Blvd. and we now know they are searching for more.

District Attorney Anthony Gulluni told 22News they are using ground-penetrating radar technology, to continue there search.

“With that technology, we were able to pinpoint some areas of interest and we’re exploring that by hand and very carefully, however long it takes we’ll be there and making sure we certainly don’t miss anything,” DA Gulluni told 22News.

DA Gulluni is not releasing the names of any suspects at this time and police are not saying what led them to this home but we do know that 40-year-old Stewart Weldon, is a resident there.

According to court documents, he was arrested Sunday after he allegedly led police on a brief chase and crashed into a cruiser.

Police spokesman Walsh told 22News that during that incident, officers found a woman in his car, who he had allegedly been holding hostage for a month.

Springfield Mayor Dominec Sarno issued a statement on twitter Saturday afternoon after visiting police officers at the home on Page Blvd:
