A Dominican man was sentenced in federal court on Thursday for illegally entering the U.S. after being deported.

According to U.S. Attorney Andrew Lelling, 48-year-old Francisco Siri, also known as Javier Ciravello Perez, was sentenced to six months in prison and will be subject to deportation proceedings.

Lelling said Siri entered the U.S. as an immigrant in 1983, but was deported in 1992 after being convicted of trafficking cocaine in 1989.

In October 2017, Lelling said officers found Siri in the Hampden County Jail and determined he was unlawfully present in the U.S.

Siri pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful re-entry of a deported alien in January of 2018.

Siri is also currently facing state charges for distributing and trafficking cocaine.
