SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield police arrested a man following a brief chase Tuesday night that started in the city and ended on a I-91 exit ramp in West Springfield.

Springfield Police Department spokesman Ryan Walsh told 22News the pursuit ended once officers found 23-year-old Jerry Ramos’ car in a ditch off of the I-91 Exit 13-A off ramp.

Our 22News crew saw a half a dozen state and local police cruisers there late Tuesday night. An ambulance was also at the site of the incident, but Walsh said no one was hurt.

Ramos was allegedly seen speeding and running stop signs on Chestnut Street before the police chase started. He is now facing charges of operating to endanger, failure to stop, and unlicensed, unregistered, uninsured operation of a motor vehicle.
