EASTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – An Easthampton firefighter was arrested on Thursday for allegedly secretly recording people.
According to the criminal complaint document from the Northampton District Court, 38-year-old Nicholas Tillman of Westfield was arrested Thursday and is charged with secret sexual surveillance and unlawful secret recording after two cameras were found in the women’s locker room at the Public Safety Complex in Easthampton on Wednesday.
The two cameras were found by a woman firefighter who saw a blue light in a locker. When she opened the locker, a camera was found taped to the locker attached to a power supply. She then proceeded to check all the lockers and found the second camera.
The firefighter reported the incident to Easthampton Fire Deputy Chief Benson. Captain Kelly and Detective Rogalski collected the evidence and opened an investigation. Several videos and images were found of the women’s locker room on the micro SD cards. Tillman was identified as the suspect after he was caught on camera attempting to retrieve the two cameras on Thursday at around 8:08 a.m.
The court documents state Tillman confessed to Deputy Chief Benson to placing the cameras in the women’s locker room. He faces up to 2 and a half years in jail and up to a $5,000 fine.
