Eversource is warning customers to ignore a recent phone scheme.
The company’s alerting customers about phone calls claiming the company needs immediate payment or they’ll disconnect your power.
Schemers have also been calling, claiming to offer discounted Eversource rates. Eversource said they never demand instant payment in person or over the phone.
One West Springfield resident said they always double check with the company.
“They came to our house not that long ago a supplier from Eversource, we thought she was getting scammed so we called Eversource to make sure she wasn’t getting scammed,” said Shenandoah Rivera of West Springfield. “Yeah, I would right away just because you can never trust people are who they say they are.”
You should contact Eversource and your local police department if the schemers try to contact you.
