FBI offering $20K for information leading to man involved in Maine officer killing

The FBI and Maine Police are offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of John Daniel Williams.

Williams allegedly shot and killed Corporal Eugene Cole of the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office in Norridgewock, Maine early Wednesday morning.

After shooting Corporal Cole, police say Williams stole his department cruiser and drove to Cumberland Farms in town where he committed theft. The cruiser was located off of Martin Stream Road in Norridgewock shortly after 5 a.m.

Williams is 29-year-old. He has blue eyes and brown hair. He is 5’6” tall and weighs about 120 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black beanie hat, a dark-colored zip-up jacket, gray pants, and tan boots.

His last known address is 16 Jones Street in Madison, Maine, and police say he has ties to New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
