Four people were arrested in Springfield Friday after an investigation into illegal firearms.
According to Springfield Police Spokesperson Ryan Walsh, detectives were granted a search warrant for 58 White Street after they received information about illegal firearms and executed the warrant Friday at 4 p.m.
Walsh said officers found 20-year-old Nathan Mercado, 20-year-old Raequese Wright, 21-year-old Raquan Lopez, and 20-year-old Chavonne Figueroa in the living room of the home with a firearm on the floor in front of the couch.
A second firearm loaded with 14 rounds was found behind the couch and had been reported stolen out of Georgia, Walsh said.
All four were arrested and are charged with possession of a high capacity feeding device, possession of ammunition without an FID card, and receiving stolen property under $1,200.
Lopez, Figueroa, and Mercardo are also facing two counts of possession of a firearm without a license to carry. Wright is facing two counts of a second offense of possession of a firearm without a license to carry.
Additionally, Walsh said Mercado is facing charges for two open warrants he had. Mercado is charged with two illegal firearm and one assault to murder charges in connection with an April 2018 incident.
Walsh said Lopez was arrested at the same home on White Street in October of 2018 after police executed a search warrant and a firearm was seized.
