CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – A Chicopee man was arrested Saturday in Chicopee after he allegedly robbed a gas station with a knife last week.

According to Chicopee Police Officer Mike Wilk, officers were called to the Shell Gas Station at 95 West Street on February 11 at 4:55 a.m. for a report of an armed robbery.

Wilk said the suspect, later identified 36-year-old John Cyr Jr, went into the store with his head down, placed a knife on the counter, and demanded money.

Initially, Cyr allegedly got away with money and police were not able to find him. However, after an investigation, officers executed a search warrant on 555 Front Street Saturday and arrested Cyr.

He is charged with a warrant for armed robbery and is being held on $10,040 bail.
