A man was arrested Tuesday in Springfield in connection to an armed robbery that took place earlier this week.
According to Springfield Police Spokesperson Ryan Walsh, 32-year-old Josue Torres was arrested and is facing charges of armed robbery and assault by means of a dangerous weapon.
Walsh said at approximately 2:15 p.m. Monday Torres allegedly attempted to steal several items from the Family Dollar store on State Street.
When an employee approached Torres he allegedly took out a knife and then ran away with some items.
Torres was a passenger in a car pulled over on Worthington and Chestnut Streets Tuesday, and after a positive ID was made he was arrested.
