Man arrested for breaking into construction site in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass (WWLP) – A man was arrested in Springfield on Sunday night for allegedly breaking and entering in the area of Marshall Street.

According to Springfield Police Department’s spokesman Ryan Walsh, 38-year-old Elvin Andino was arrested around 8:30 p.m., Sunday for breaking and entering at a construction site.

Officers found Andino at the intersection of Marshall Street and Eastern Avenue after he ran and jumped a fence. They found Andino with a backpack that had burglarious tools in it.

Springfield police previously arrested Andino in October 2017 for breaking and entering at the Racing Mart in Indian Orchard. 

Andino is being charged with breaking and entering at night (felony), possession of a burglarious instrument, breaking and entering( trespass), and assault.
