Man arrested in connection with Westford Circle shooting in Springfield


SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield police have made an arrest in connection with the shooting on Westford Circle last Friday.

Springfield Police Department spokesman Ryan Walsh told 22News, 20-year-old Shaiquan Eaddy-Chapman was taken into custody at his home on Andrew Street Wednesday morning, on the following charges:

  • Firearm violation with two prior violent/drug crimes
  • Carrying a loaded firearm without a license
  • Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony
  • Discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling
  • Attempted assault and battery with a firearm
  • Firearm armed robbery
  • Firearm armed kidnapping

Walsh said the man Eaddy-Chapman is accused of shooting is expected to survive. After the shooting, officers found the victim in a car en route to the hospital.
