Man charged with robbing Springfield credit union

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield police have identified the man accused of robbing a credit union on Wednesday.

Springfield Police Department spokesman Ryan Walsh told 22News, 39-year-old Luis Ruiz was arrested Wednesday night near Dwight and Alexander Streets. He’s been charged with unarmed robbery and an arrest warrant. 

Walsh said cash stolen from the Freedom Credit Union at 1976 Main Street earlier in the day was also recovered.
