SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Police were in the area of Cambridge Street after multiple shots were fired Friday evening.

Due to the active police presence, Cambridge St. was blocked off with yellow tape while police secured the area and looked into the shooting incident.

Springfield Police spokesman Ryan Walsh told 22News officers responded to a Shotspotter activation around 9:05 p.m. near 100 Cambridge St.
