WATERTOWN, Conn. (WTNH) – A Massachusetts man was arrested in Connecticut after he was allegedly driving a stolen car.
On Tuesday morning at 7:40 a.m., authorities say state police announced troopers to be on the look out in regards to a car jacking that happened in the state of New York.
Official say the stolen car was a red 2011 Nissan Sentra. They say a cell phone “ping” placed the car traveling on Interstate 84 eastbound in Connecticut.
At 7:52 a.m., state police say troopers observed the car heading east in Middlebury and getting off at exit 17. From there, they say the car was seen heading north on Route 63 into Watertown.
Authorities say Watertown police were notified. They say the car was found abandoned and running at Davis Street and Melrose Avenue.
Officials say the suspect, 25-year-old Felix Juner Maldonado of Worcester, Massachusetts, was found on Davis Street. They say he was taken into custody and charged with reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle without a license, larceny, and interfering with officer.
