Another memorial in Boston was vandalized Monday.
According to the Boston Police Department, this time the vandalism was at the Mt. Hope Cemetary memorials in Mattapan.
Boston Police tweeted a photo of the vandalism Monday, which shows one of the monuments covered in dark stains.
The Boston Police Relief Association said the memorial is dedicated to the men and women of the Boston Police Department and honors 80 officers who have died in the line of duty.
Boston Police Commissioner William Gross said, “I find it beyond reprehensible and wrong anyone would think it okay to damage and desecrate such hallowed grounds.”
On Sunday the World War II memorial at Castle Island was vandalized with what police believe to be some type of oil.
Police have not said whether the two vandalisms are related.
