PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – A 21-year-old mother is in jail charged with first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse after an arrest report shows that she killed her own son during what appears to be a fit of rage.
Charisse Stinson was booked into the Pinellas County Jail Tuesday night, just a few days after she claimed a man kidnapped her son.
A Florida AMBER Alert was issued Sunday for 2-year-old Jordan Belliveau after she reported him missing.
According to a newly-released report, Stinson admitted to detectives that her son Jordan had an injury on his right leg in the early morning hours of Sunday, Sept. 2.
“During a moment of frustration the defendant admitted she struck the victim in the face with the back of her hand, which in turn caused the back of his head to strike an interior wall of the home,” the report states.
The report says Jordan suffered seizures after the blow to the head.
He later died.
“The defendant carried him to a wooded area during the night where the victim’s body was left,” the report shows.
Stinson claimed a man named Antwan offered to give her and Jordan a ride on Saturday night. She said Antwan knocked her out during the car ride and took off with Jordan.
Largo police detectives told News Channel 8 the story seemed legitimate. A statewide AMBER Alert was issued and a composite sketch of the man was put out.
But in the end, police said that story wasn’t true.
The boy’s body was found not far from the Largo Sports Complex Tuesday afternoon.
Stinson is due in court at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
