WEST BROOKFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – It is a truly heartbreaking tragedy that is shocking people in a normally quiet central Massachusetts town: four people were found dead inside a home in West Brookfield, including three young children.
State Police were still on Old Warren Road in West Brookfield early Friday morning; one day after the discovery was made.
A two year old boy, a five year-old boy, a seven year-old girl, and their mother. were all found dead at 10 Old Warren Road Thursday afternoon. According to the Associated Press, police found the bodies in an upstairs room, after being called to the house for a well-being check.
Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early, Jr. called these deaths suspicious, but also said that there is no threat to the public. The superintendent of the Quaboag Regional School District has confirmed that two of the children were students at the West Brookfield Elementary School. Schools in the district are open for classes Friday, but grief counselors will be available.
Police have not said anything about the cause of the death of the mother and children. 22News will continue to bring you any new information as soon as it becomes available.
