Northampton man charged with beating, robbing man

A Northampton man was arrested in Springfield Tuesday night after allegedly beating and robbing a man.

Springfield Police Department spokesman Ryan Walsh told 22News 43-year-old Charles Pulliam is facing three felony charges in connection with the incident: unarmed robbery, assault and battery on an elderly or disabled person, and unarmed burglary with assault on an occupant.

Walsh said officers found the victim bleeding on Belmont Avenue. He allegedly told officers he was robbed and beaten in his home, and was later able to identify Pulliam as the attacker.

Pulliam was arrested in on Ft. Pleasant Avenue around 7:00 that night. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.
