NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Northampton police are reminding residents to lock up their bicycles after six were reported stolen over the past few weeks.
According to Northampton police, the thefts happened on Barrett Street, Church Street, Garfield Avenue, Butler Place, Bratton Court, and Main Street in Leeds.
Police say most of the bikes were left unlocked. Two of them were stolen out of garages.
Northampton police recommend taking the following steps to protect your bike from being stolen:
- Use a quality bike lock whenever a bike is left unattended
- Know the serial number, make, model, and color of your bike
- Have pictures of your bike that we can add to our report
- If your bike is stolen, make sure to report it
