PALMER, Mass. (WWLP) – Palmer Police are releasing few details at this time about a shooting that took place at around 6:00 Sunday night, in which a man was wounded.
Palmer Police Lt. Christopher Burns told 22News that one man was shot, and taken to the hospital. The shooting took place in the 1100 block of Calkins Road.
It’s not clear how badly the man was hurt, or what circumstances led to the shooting. Lt. Burns called the situation a “disturbance.”
According to a news release from the Palmer police, a second man was charged with possession of class C and class D drugs, with intent to distribute. That man, whose name has not been released, is being held on $50,000 bail. No charges have been filed at this time for the shooting itself.
He told 22News he anticipates giving out more information in the days to come.
Palmer Police were assisted by Monson Police, as well as state troopers attached to the Hampden County District Attorney’s Office.
