BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – The suspect in this year’s Parkland school massacre is in trouble behind bars after authorities say he attacked an officer inside the jail he is being held at.
A Broward County Sheriff’s Office spokesman confirmed to NBC Miami that Nikolas Cruz attacked a detention officer inside the Broward County Jail on Wednesday morning.
NBC Miami says the officer was hurt, but there is no information on how severe his injuries are.
Cruz has been charged with aggravated assault and battery on an officer, and use of a chemical or electrical weapon on an officer, according to NBC Miami.
Cruz is the man accused of shooting and killing 17 people at Stoneman Douglas High School back in February.
