SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Parts were stolen from the railings at Symphony Hall in Springfield Wednesday night.
According to Springfield Police Spokesperson Ryan Walsh, a type of cutting tool was used to steal some parts of the railings along the front steps of Symphony Hall located at 34 Court Street in Springfield.
Mayor Domenic Sarno told 22News police are on the case to apprehend the vandals who are likely to try and sell the more precious parts of the railing, “It’s absolutely despicable. We’re reviewing video camera footage there. We’ll catch the culprits but to do that, to deface the historic and majestic Symphony Hall. This was for the brass there I’m sure they’re gonna look to sell it.”
