(WTNH) – A New Britain man is facing charges after a stabbing in the city on Saturday afternoon.
According to officials, around 3:40 p.m., units responded to 45 Dwight Street for an assault complaint.
At the scene, police located a 22-year-old man who had been stabbed. He was transported to an area hospital where he was listed in critical yet stable condition.
Officers said the suspect, 28-year-old Rashad Candelaria, was located at the scene and detained.
Police stated that the incident stemmed from an argument that happened before the stabbing.
Candelaria was arrested and charged with criminal attempt to commit murder, assault, and breach of peace.
He was held on a $1 million bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
