COOS BAY, Oregon (WTVO) – A K-9 officer was struck with over 200 porcupine quills while tracking a suspect in Oregon, according to police.

On Saturday, April 20th, a Coos County Sheriff’s Deputy spotted a 29-year-old Devin Wilson, a suspect wanted on several felony warrants. Wilson allegedly fled from the Deputy, so police brought in K9 Odin to track him down.

According to police, Odin encountered a porcupine on the path and was hit by over 200 quills, several of which went in the dog’s mouth and two hit him near the left eye.

Police suspended tracking down Wilson and rushed Odin to a vet where he was sedated and treated for over two hours.

Wilson is still at large.
