Body found at Cinemark Theaters parking lot in West Springfield

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – West Springfield Police are investigating after a man was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the parking lot of the Cinemark Theaters Monday night.

West Springfield Police Sgt. Joe LaFrance told 22News, a resident found a man in his 20’s unresponsive lying on the ground next to a car in the parking lot around 11 p.m. Monday night.

LaFrance said police were called to the area and are investigating the incident as a death caused by a self-inflicted gunshot. Detectives were investigating the incident until about 3 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Our 22news crew shot video around 2:00 a.m. and saw several police cars and tape around an SUV.

LaFrance said the incident is not considered suspicious.
