Police: Two stabbed, one arrested after card game in Springfield

Two men in Springfield were stabbed early Monday morning following a card game.

According to Springfield Police Spokesperson Ryan Walsh, 26-year-old Lal Pradham was arrested and charged with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and one count of malicious damage to a motor vehicle.

Walsh said police were called to the 1100 block of Allen Street around 3:45 a.m. Monday morning, and upon arriving found a man who had been stabbed.

He said four men were playing a card game in Pradham’s home when he accused a man of cheating.

As the group tried to leave a fist fight then broke out. Pradham then allegedly broke the mirror off one of the victims cars and got a knife from his own vehicle.

Walsh said Pradham then allegedly stabbed the man he was involved in a fight with and another who tried to break up the fight.

All three men were taken to Baystate Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
