Florida deputies discovered an accused burglar on the roof of a store in Volusia County after the owner heard cries for help.
Sheriff’s investigators said the would-be burglar first broke a window trying to get into the closed business. When that didn’t work, the man somehow got up on the roof and got stuck.
The owner of the food mart heard muffled cries for help coming from the roof and moments after deputies arrived, they could see Michael Monacelli, 31, sitting on the edge.
Monacelli told deputies he was trying to get into the closed business because he was dehydrated, and that he went onto the roof to “feel safe.”
