South Carolina man convicted of 2014 Northampton rape


NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – A South Carolina man has been convicted of rape in connection with a 2014 incident in Northampton.

Northwestern District Attorney spokesperson Marey Carey told 22News 53-year-old Christopher Hoime, of North Myrtle Beach, was convicted by a Hampshire Superior Court jury last Friday following a five-day trial.

Hoime allegedly drugged a 31-year-old victim during a night out in Northampton before raping her as she came in and out of consciousness.

A sentencing date for Hoime has yet to be determined.
