Southwick police are looking into a car accident that they say involved alcohol Saturday evening.
According to the Southwick Police Department, a Westfield resident was driving at what appeared to be a high rate of speed on Hillside Road when the driver crossed into the opposite lane and crashed into two parked cars.
Police said the driver of the car was taken to Baystate Medical Center with minor injuries.
Officers said speed and alcohol were found to be the cause of the crash, and one of the investigating officers is seeking several charges for the driver including:
- Operating to endanger
- Marked lanes violation
- Operating under the influence of alcohol
Officials are not releasing the name of the driver as they are still investigating the accident.
No other injuries were reported, and all three vehicles involved were towed from the accident due to sustaining major damage.
