Springfield man arrested after allegedly breaking into gas station

A Springfield man is facing a breaking and entering charge after allegedly breaking into a gas station early Tuesday morning. 

According to Springfield Police Spokesperson Ryan Walsh, 39-year-old Abdul Basden was arrested on Liberty Street at 4:10 a.m. after he allegedly broke into the Racing Mart on Armory Street.

Walsh said Basden is facing a felony charge of breaking and entering into a building at night and a charge of larceny from a building.

The break-in was reported to police at 3:20 a.m.
