Springfield man arrested after firearm seized during traffic stop

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A Springfield man was arrested Sunday night following a traffic stop  in which a firearm was seized by police.

Springfield Police Department spokesman Ryan Walsh told 22News 26-year-old Kadeem Batchelor is now facing the following charges:

  • Possession of a Firearm without an FID Card, Subsequent Offense
  • Possession of ammunition without an FID Card
  • Improper Storage of a Firearm
  • Receiving stolen property under $1200

Walsh said Batchelor was a passenger in the car pulled over near Princeton and Amherst Streets at around 6:15 p.m. The car had been pulled over for a defective brake light.
