Springfield man facing charges after loaded, illegal firearm allegedly found in his car


SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A Springfield man is facing charges after police allegedly found an illegal firearm in his car. 

According to Springfield Police Spokesperson Ryan Walsh, Sunday night at 10:20 p.m. officers saw a driver, later identified as 28-year-old Dennis Jordan, make an erratic turn and almost hit a police cruiser on State Street.

Walsh said Jordan then ran a stop sign, passing a car that was stopped, and was pulled over by officers on Northampton Avenue. 

Jordan allegedly didn’t have a license on him and officers found a loaded firearm under the driver’s seat. 

He is charged with carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
