A Springfield man has been arrested in connection with a shooting on Eastern Avenue that left one victim with non-life threatening injuries.
Springfield Police spokesman Ryan Walsh said officers arrested 38-year-old Ronald Kelly Wednesday night after the shooting occurred.
Walsh told 22News the shooting incident happened just before 8 p.m. when a ShotSpotter was activated near 300 Eastern Ave.
That was when officers found a man with a gunshot wound near 100 Alden Street. Walsh described his injuries as non-life threatening.
Springfield Police said around 9 p.m., they located a car involved in the shooting on Wilton St. and arrested Kelly when he came out of the home where they located the car.
Kelly is facing the following charges:
- Carrying a gun without a license
- Possession of ammunition without ID
- Discharging a gun within 500 feet of a building
- Assault and battery with a dangerous weapon
