Springfield PD: Man pointed gun at club bouncer after being denied access

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A Springfield man was arrested after he allegedly pointed a gun at a club bouncer on Saturday.

Springfield Police Department spokesman Ryan Walsh told 22News, 27-year-old Michael Pinkey tried to get into a club on Dwight Street after it had closed and pulled out the gun when he was denied access.

Officers later arrested Pinkey in the area of Worthington and Bridge Streets, where he was allegedly observed taking the gun out of his pants and placing it underneath a car. Walsh said the gun and approximately 12 grams of cocaine were recovered by Springfield police during the arrest.

Pinkey has been charged with assault by means of a dangerous weapon, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, possession with the intent to distribute a Class B drug, receiving stolen property less than $1,200 and possession of a firearm in a felony.
