Springfield PD: PeoplesBank robbed by two men with guns


SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) -Springfield Police made two quick arrests following a bank robbery in the city’s East Forest Park neighborhood Wednesday afternoon. 

Springfield Police Department spokesman Ryan Walsh told 22News two men with handguns robbed the PeoplesBank located at 1240 Sumner Avenue just before 3 p.m.

Walsh said an undisclosed amount of money was stolen, but no one was hurt.

Walsh said the men were arrested a short time later near the 600 block of Sumner Avenue.
The suspects’ names have not yet been released.
