A suspect was injured Sunday in an officer-involved shooting in Springfield.

According to Springfield Police Spokesperson Ryan Walsh, at 10 p.m. officers were called to Layzon Brothers Road for a report of a domestic disturbance.

Walsh said two officers were involved in an incident in which they fired their guns.

The suspect suffered a minor injury and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Walsh said he was later released from the hospital and taken to the Springfield Police Department for booking.

Due to the nature of the incident, police were unable to provide additional information.

The officers involved in the shooting turned in their guns, as protocol requires, while police and the Hampden County District Attorney review the incident.
