Springfield police seek driver of blue pickup truck that hit 5 cars

Crime

Police are looking for the driver of a blue pickup truck that damaged a total of five cars in the Pulaski Street area early Wednesday afternoon.

According to Springfield police, the driver of the blue pickup truck rear-ended a car that was stopped at a red light at Parker and Falmouth Streets causing the stopped car to hit another car around 1:40 p.m.

Police say the driver of the pickup truck then made a U-turn, drove over the curb at a Cumberland Farms driveway and made a sudden left turn onto Pulaski St. During that turn Springfield police told 22News the blue pickup truck hit another car that was stopped in traffic on Parker St.

The truck driver then continued on Pulaski St. and hit another car that was parked, forcing that parked car to hit another parked car on Pulaski St. All five cars were damaged, police say.

A driver of the first car hit is identified as a Ludlow woman. She was taken to Baystate Medical Center and is expected to be okay.

Police say they are still looking for the driver of the multiple hit and run.
