Suspect sought in manicurist’s hit-and-run death

Las Vegas police have identified a suspect in the hit-and-run death of manicurist Ngoc Nguyen.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police say detectives are searching for 21-year-old Krystal Whipple.

Police allege Whipple left the Crystal Nails salon Saturday, December 29th, without paying.

Lt. Ray Spencer with LVMPD said she tried to pay for service at a nail salon with a fraudulent credit card.

When the credit card was declined, Whipple left the nail salon, saying she was going to her car to get money, but instead got into her car and attempted to leave.

The victim, Ngoc Q. Nguyen, went outside to try to prevent the woman from leaving.

Surveillance video released by LVMPD shows the woman leaving in a dark-colored, two-door convertible. Nguyen runs in front of the car, but it keeps moving forward, running her over while another person tries to hang onto the back.
