Teen arrested in racist threat against schools

Police in Charlottesville, Virginia arrested a teen Friday in connection with online harassment toward the city’s schools.

Police say the teen used an internet website to post a threat to Charlottesville High School and specific ethnic groups of students.

Police chief RaShall Brackney says the remarks were directed toward African-American and Hispanic students, and many of the comments referenced ethnic cleansing.

Charlottesville City Schools were shut down Thursday and Friday, as authorities conducted an “active investigation” into the threat. Classes resumed Monday.
