SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Three alleged heroin traffickers have been arrested following a joint, months-long investigation by the Springfield Police Department’s Narcotics Unit and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Springfield Police Department spokesman Ryan Walsh identified the suspects as: 27-year-old Remys Lara, 21-year-old Nurys Munoz, and 45-year-old Jason Guyette, all of Indian Orchard.
Walsh said Lara was taken into custody with 112 grams of uncut heroin in his possession after officers observed a drug deal go down in a parking lot on Boston Road Wednesday morning. Detectives then executed a search warrant at Lara’s home on Worcester Street in Indian Orchard and allegedly found five more grams of heroin, a digital scale, and other equipment used to cut and package the drug.
Munoz, who Walsh said lives with Lara, was arrested on a warrant shortly after in East Longmeadow. A couple of hours later, Guyette was arrested on a warrant in Indian Orchard.
All three suspects have been charged with heroin trafficking 18-36 grams. Lara is facing additional heroin trafficking charges as well as possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug.
