Two arrested in Hartford after an unregistered pistol was found in their vehicle

 (WTNH) – According to police, members of the Street Crimes Unit and Auto Theft Unit were patrolling the north district of the city of Hartford on Friday when they discovered a Nissan Altima acting suspicious. Police report that the officers observed  the Altima suspiciously circling the Barbour Street and Westland Street area. The vehicle also was reported to have numerous violations as well. 

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle as it entered a driveway on Clarke Street. The occupants attempted to flee the scene but were apprehended by the officers. 

Officers located within the vehicle an illegal .22 caliber Ruger handgun containing six live rounds. 

Police arrested 19 year old Kyrell Thaxter of Hartford and 20 year old Tyquell Roberts of Waterbury. 

Thaxter has been ached with misuse of marker plate, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, no license, interfering with police, and weapons in a motor vehicle. 

Roberts has been charged with weapons in a motor vehicle, carrying a pistol without a permit, and criminal possession of a firearm.
