Two Pittsfield brothers charged with killing Dalton teen


Two men from Pittsfield were arraigned Friday on murder charges in connection with the death of an 18-year-old on January 20. 

The Berkshire District Attorney’s Office told 22News 18-year-old Carlos Pascual Polanco and 22-year-old Chiry Omar Pascual-Polanco were arraigned in Central Berkshire Country District Court and charged with the shooting death of Jaden Salois of Dalton. 

Pittsfield Police were called to the area of Edward Avenue for a possible gunshot victim around 2:13 a.m. that Sunday morning. Responding officers found Salois’ body outside a home on Edward Ave. near Elm Street.

Police confirmed that Salois died outside the home from the gunshot wound. 

The Berkshire District Attorney’s Office was able to bring these charges thanks to the hard work and professionalism of the Pittsfield Police Department and State Police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office,” District Attorney Andrea Harrington stated. “We worked closely with law enforcement on this case. The District Attorney’s Office sends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Salois.

The siblings were held without the right of bail after Friday’s arraignment, pending a pre-trial hearing on May 29.
