WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – West Springfield police have arrested a suspect alleged to have robbed a bank on Riverdale Street Monday morning, as well as a bank robbery last week in the town.

According to West Springfield Police Sgt. Joseph LaFrance, around 8:44 a.m. Monday morning police received a report of a bank robbery at TD Bank on Riverdale Street. The suspect, identified as a woman, allegedly handed a note to the teller that demanded money. An undetermined amount of cash was given to the suspect and she left the bank on foot. No injuries were reported.

Sgt. LaFrance told 22News the suspect has been arrested and charged for the robbery. The suspect is also believed to be the suspect of another bank robbery last week.

On Friday, a woman handed a note to a teller of the Freedom Credit Union on Union Street, demanding money. She left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.

The West Springfield police are continuing to investigate the bank robberies and are expected to release the suspect’s charges and identity on Tuesday.

Another bank robbery from last Thursday is still being investigated. Police were called to the Aarha Credit Union on Park Avenue for a bank robbery. In that case, the suspect also handed the teller a note demanding money. The suspect has been identified as a white man who was wearing a grey hoodie with black shirt, grey shorts, brown hat and blue mask covering his face. He was also carrying a black umbrella.
