Two people were arrested early Tuesday morning after allegedly trying to break into a car in Greenfield.
According to the Greenfield Police Department, at approximately 12:16 a.m. police were called to the area of 355 Federal Street for a report of two people breaking into a car.
Police said 30-year-old Shannon Guin of Westfield and 31-year-old Hallet Merrick of Greenfield allegedly ran into the woods when they were noticed.
After brief investigation and search, Guin and Merrick were arrested on charges of breaking and entering at night of a vehicle for the purposes of committing a felony and shoplifting.
Guin was held on $500 bail, and Merrick was held without bail.
