Woman charged in connection with Springfield stabbing

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A Springfield woman has been charged in connection with the stabbing on School Street Monday night.

Springfield Police Department spokesman Ryan Walsh told 22News 45-year-old Marisol Vazquez was arrested shortly after the incident, on a charge of armed assault to murder.

Walsh said the victim was seriously injured in the stabbing, but is expected to survive. She was taken to Baystate Medical Center for treatment.
